Editorial policy

Sources

We use primary sources only: the Energy Tax Act (1994:1776) and the Swedish Tax Agency for energy tax, the Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate (Ei) for grid fees, Statistics Sweden for contract statistics, Svenska kraftnät for bidding zones, and the Swedish Energy Agency and Energimarknadsbyrån for consumption figures. A blog, a comparison site or an energy company’s campaign page is never a source. Each value sits in the parameter file with its source and date (2026-10-12).

What we do not publish

A value we could not read in an official source is not published. Power-exchange spot prices are not reproduced, because they may not be republished without a licence; you enter your own price. We rank no retailers and take no money to mention anyone.

Checks

The calculation engine is tested automatically on every build against known values, including Ei’s standard cases and Statistics Sweden’s published monthly prices. Tax rates and tariffs are reviewed at each new year and whenever a change is announced, such as the 2027 energy tax.

Corrections

Errors are fixed as soon as confirmed and the page date changes. Write to kontakt@totalelpris.se. More in method and sources and about us.
